About Latch Finance

With more than a decade of international banking experience, founder and Financial Adviser Darren Thomson knows his way around finance.

Darren first got a taste for the importance of reliable mortgage advice as a 23-year-old buying his first investment property — a house off the plans. From there, he subscribed to a simple philosophy: keep things simple, transparent and honest.

Since 2008 he has worked within the banking industry throughout New Zealand, Sydney and London — across residential and property finance — before becoming a mortgage adviser in 2017. That breadth means Latch brings a deeper understanding of how it all works, to get the best outcome for clients.

Today, Latch is based in Hawke’s Bay and works with clients all over New Zealand, including many in Auckland. Wherever you are, we’ll keep you in the loop and explain things so they actually make sense. As simple as it sounds, that’s where Latch really stands out.
